Delta workers are mourning the loss of a colleague who died at work on Monday afternoon at Le Bons Bay, Banks Peninsula, near Christchurch.
Alan Scott - a well-respected member of the company’s environmental services team in Christchurch - was operating a mower on Banks Peninsula at the time of his death.
Delta CEO Mike Costelloe said the company was supporting the family and cooperating with authorities on their investigations into the incident.
“Our thoughts go out to Alan’s family, friends and colleagues. We have been in contact with Alan’s family to offer our full support to them at this very sad time.
Mr Costelloe said police were investigating the cause of death and Worksafe NZ had also begun an investigation.
“Delta will carry out its own investigation into what occurred,” Mr Costelloe said.
