Delta to participate in Otago Arbor Day

Delta’s team of arborists have taken the opportunity to come together with the Otago Polytechnic and the New Zealand Arboricultural Association to celebrate Otago Arbor Day and lend a helping hand to the Otago SPCA.

On Saturday 27 May 2017 Delta will be involved with some of Dunedin’s significant trees surrounding the SPCA that are in need of maintenance work. Specifically, five large Redwood trees will need pruning and dead wood removed.

“It’ll be a big job, but supporting a local charity in need will make for a great day,” says Delta tree services manager David Glenn.

On the day, there will also be the opportunity for local arboricultural workers to practise aerial rescues and have their climbing equipment inspected by trained professionals. Inspections will occur from 9:30 – 10:30am and aerial rescues will be from 10:30 – 12pm.

For the safety of the public and the workers, we cannot allow unauthorised personnel into the coned-off site, however you will be able to see us working from afar and we encourage anyone who is interested to come down and have a look.
