As speed and bandwidth increases, so do the potential benefits from improved digital access, faster data transfer and greater collaboration.

Today, broadband speeds in New Zealand average around 3 megabits per second (Mbps). The Government’s ultrafast broadband initiative aims to provide at least 75 per cent of New Zealanders with access to Internet services at speeds of at least 100 Mbps.

Ultrafast broadband opens up greater opportunities for remote and home working, online collaboration, cloud computing, virtual back-up and desktop videoconferencing.

In the near to medium term, next generation technologies will become commercially available such as on demand television via Internet (IPTV) and telepresence videoconferencing.

Delta has developed its own local fibre network and offers asset management and fibre optic installation, repair and testing services.
